The EFAO delegation returned safely to Okinawa on July 10th after a week of playing in Spain.
We want to thank all the players, staff, volunteers, and parents for your support in making this experience an unforgettable memory for all the players who participated in the Donosti Cup 2022.
Overall, we are delighted with the performance of all the three teams that competed as equals with powerful teams from all over the world.
U/15 Team
The U/15 EFAO team was defeated in the round of 1/8 against the Athletic Beirut from Lebanon. However, after struggling but playing well in the first two games, the U15 improved greatly to reach the tournament's second round.

U/12 Team
A fantastic performance for the U/12 team that clearly dominated the tournament's first stage. The U/12 team won the first three games and moved to the second stage as a strong candidate to reach the finals, but unfortunately, they lost by penalty kicks against the Spanish 433 Academy.

U/11 Team
A remarkable performance from our youngest team. The U/11 players showed an excellent attitude and mental strength to overcome a disappointing loss in their first game. As a result, not only did they qualify for the second round, but also all U/11 players showed great sportsmanship and effort during the tournament.

Summary
We are at EFAO very proud of how all the children represented our Academy. We had the best result among the four academies that participated as representatives of Japan. The tournament was tough, but all the EFAO participants performed well at the international level.
We look forward to participating and improving this year's performance at the Donosti Cup 2023. Until then, keep doing your best in our training and local competitions. Vamos EFAO!
